Ink Blending with Colored Pencil Accents

26

Welcome Back!

Today, I have a new video for you. This is a quick and easy technique that looks much more complicated than it is! I created some cards using simple ink blending with the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes and then accented the images with Prismacolor Pencils. For these cards, I used the Wrapped in Love stamp set from the Pop-Art Flowers kit.

For the Blue card that I show in the video, the Aquamarine and Kelly Green Prismacolor Pencils along with Ocean Mist Ink for blending.

For the Yellow Card, I used the Sweet Corn ink and then added some Goldenrod and Kelly Green Pencil detail.

And for the Pink card, I used Innocent Pink ink along with the Henna and Kelly Green pencils.

I love how different each one looks, especially the greens when colored over the blended ink.

Supplies:

Stamps- Wrapped in Love, All About You

Ink- Black Onyx, Innocent Pink, Ocean Mist, Sweet Corn, Gina K. Designs Embossing and Watermark Pad

Prismacolor Pencils- Aquamarine, Kelly Green, Goldenrod, Henna

Card stock- Heavy Base weight white, Layering weight white, Black Onyx

Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder, Embossing Magic Pad, Wagner Heat Tool, Misti

Measurements for all cards:

White Card Base- 4 1/4″ X 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half

Black Onyx Layer- 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″

Floral Layer- 3 3/4″ X 5″

You can find all of the Gina K. Designs Supplies in our store HERE

I found a great deal on Prismacolor Pencils. Today, they are $89.07 (That’s on .59 cents a pencil!) This price is for the entire collection! You can find them HERE

I also LOVE this pencil sharpener. It’s important to have a good point on your pencils and this sharpener never breaks my pencils so it’s my go to. It has a metal component inside instead of plastic and it works so well!

Thank you so much for the “how to”. I have the Prismacolor pencils, but don’t really know how to use or blend them. Your video was so very helpful. And thank you for always sharing the “where to buy” if you do not carry that particular item. You are so very special and kind. Sara

Gina what a beautiful set of cards, Gorgeous!!! I didn’t have the same stamp but close enough, I had most of the other items, it was very enjoyable to make my own. How satisfying this project was, and much easier than it looks. My cards turned out beautiful even though I’m new to card making. I’ve been in art since a little child but now I have the time and money to create. Thanks for your tutors I ‘vs learned so much from you and several other instructors. Art is so relaxing and brings joy to me and others. Thanks a million for your expertise and inspiration. God richly bless you for all you do. ❤😊🎨🌈🖌♻

What a beautiful cards you make, gorgeous. Your positivity jumps from the screen in my room ! And I do learn so much. I do make cards but not often with stamps en colour pencils. And when I see you do it I think that’s a pity. Beautiful things are possible.
I hope you will have me as a fan, normally card making with scissors and glue will I look a bit further and try with pencils and stamps. Bless you 🍀
