Easy Stenciled Cards
Thursday, January 30, 2020 28Welcome Back!
Tomorrow, we will be picking the three blog hop winners who will receive a $50 gift certificate and I will announce them here on my blog.
But today, I have a new video for you featuring the A Big Hello card kit. In this video, I will show you two easy stenciled card ideas that are clean and simple and so much fun to make!
This video is a little different than the ones I have been making. I went over to our studio at the store and used Rina’s set to do a two camera, live style video. I’d love to know if you like this style video, or if you prefer the voiceover style that I have been doing over the last two years. I started this way and did videos like this for over eight years but when I moved, I didn’t have the right space to continue so I started doing voiceovers from my closet. Haha
Here are some closer shots of the cards I made. In this photo, I used a white card base for the blue card but in the next photo, I used Sea Glass and I like it better with the pop of color!
For the blue card, I used masking paper to mask off the flower prior to stenciling. Although you can stamp right over the stenciling, you’ll notice that none of the blue stencil design is inside the openings of the leaves and flower. By using masking paper, the images pop a bit more because they are outlines in white due to the masks.
In the pink card, I ended up using the Sparkling Sea sequins instead of the Disco Ball ones. I just didn’t have any with me and I thought they would be a nice contrast, although, if I make this card again, I will change the sequin color to Disco Ball for sure.
Here are the measurements for both cards and the greeting panel:
Card base- 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2′, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half
Black Layer- 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″
White layer- 3 3/4″ X 5″
Greeting white panel- 2 1/2″ X 1/2″
Greeting black panel- 3 5/8″ X 5/8″
