September 2021 Monthly Mix Challenge
Thursday, September 2, 2021 8Welcome back to another Gina K. Designs challenge! This month, I am your challenge hostess and I have a fun little ink cube challenge for you!
Ink cubes are a great way to try out an ink color and they are a great type of ink pad to use on smaller images for things like wreath building and more! They also work well for use with blending brushes and you can use them to ink up bigger stamps as well.
But did you know that they can make a really fun background using a direct to paper technique? Just use them like a stamp and with a lighter touch, they will leave that beautiful linen texture behind to create a fun background that you can stamp over.
For my card, I used Wild Dandelion, Tangerine Twist, Honey Mustard and Jelly Bean Green to create a fun and busy background. Then I stamped butterflies on top using Black Onyx ink. I cut the panel using our Master Layouts 7 dies set and added a greeting using the flag die from Master Layouts 5.
Your challenge is to make a card using ink cubes direct to paper to create a background. You can stamp, drag or smear the ink cube right onto the paper. Get creative with your colors and have some fun!
