Stenciling Fun with Friends!
Wednesday, September 15, 2021 151Welcome to the Stenciling Fun Blog Hop! We are sharing a love for stenciling and we are happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you their new Stencil Mats along with our stenciling products!
I had a lot of fun with this mat and it makes ink blending and stenciling a breeze. It’s heat resistant, waterproof, non-stick and it has a non-slip back so it stays in place.
For my project, I used the Gina K. Designs Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil Bundle to create three butterflies. I used both our regular and mini blending brushes and they worked so nicely with the new mat. I decided to do a rainbow effect and blend rainbow colors down the panel of butterflies. I used the Gina K. Designs ink cubes to achieve this look. For my background, I used our Harvest Flourish Stencil and a little light gray ink to add texture but not take away from the focal images.
The mat shown here is the smallest one and it’s perfect for A-2 and mini slimline card projects. It’s also great for traveling too!
You can see the details in these butterflies in my closer photos.
The greeting I used is from the Gina K. Designs stamp set called Heartfelt Bouquet.
I embossed it in white on black card stock and cut it using a flag die from our Master Layouts 3 Die set. I cut the mini slimline panel using our Master Layouts 7 Die set and cut the butterflies out with the Fluttering Fall Layering Stencil Bundle, which includes, layering stencils, dies and and full 6 X 8 stamp set.
Just a quick tip- if you cut the butterfly dies out first and then stencil, it’s much easier to get them perfectly centered. The mat really helped because it kept everything in place and the stencil wasn’t sliding around as much because it’s made of silcone.
